Summary:

Since the mid-1970s, Chile has moved further and faster than any other Latin American country towards free market reform and trade liberalization. This report provides information on (1) Chile's trade and investment policies and U.S. concerns about these policies, (2) specific factors that may affect U.S. investment in Chile's mining industry and agricultural trade with Chile, and (3) U.S. government efforts to promote trade with and investment in Chile.
