Incoming House Republican recruits new comms director

Rep.-elect Pat Harrigan (R-N.C.) is bringing aboard Lexi Kranich as his communications director, kicking off the recruitment of his leadership team for the 119th Congress.

Kranich, born and raised in State College, Pa., steps into the role following a swift trajectory in Republican communications. She currently serves as communications director for Rep. Mike Garcia (R-Calif.), a position she has held since August 2024. Before her promotion, Kranich worked as Garcia's press assistant. Her prior experience includes internships with Rep. John Joyce (R-Pa.), the Republican National Committee and Dr. Mehmet Oz's Senate campaign in Pennsylvania.

Kranich graduated from Pennsylvania State University earlier this year, earning a bachelor's degree in journalism and history. While at Penn State, she joined Kappa Alpha Theta and Phi Alpha Theta, participated in College Republicans and supported THON, the university's student-run philanthropic dance marathon.
