Congress 118th
Date Requested July 27, 2023
Requested By the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions
Date Sent Jan. 12, 2024
Description:
S. 133 would reauthorize the National Alzheimer’s Project Act through December 31, 2035, and expand the membership of the project’s advisory council, which reports to the Congress each year on the national plan to address Alzheimer’s disease.  In 2023, $394,000 was allocated for the project, primarily for salaries, travel, and other administrative expenses. On that basis and accounting for anticipated inflation, CBO estimates that implementing the bill would cost $2 million over the 2024‑2028 period. Any spending would be subject to appropriation.
