Information
Organization's Own Description:
The Federation of American Hospitals (FAH), founded in 1966, is the national representative of more than 1,000 investor-owned or managed community hospitals and health systems throughout the United States. Our members include hospitals in urban and rural America, as well as inpatient rehabilitation, psychiatric, long-term acute care, and cancer hospitals. Investor-owned hospitals serve their communities proudly while providing high-quality health care to their patients.
The FAH provides a unique perspective to health care policymakers. We and our members are steadfast advocates of a market-based health care system, which benefits consumers by continually providing the high quality, patient safety, and value of care through competition and innovation.
Since its inception, the FAH has worked diligently to provide the expertise and insight of its members to federal legislators and regulators, as well as to other stakeholders, the general public, and the media. The key to our continuing organizational success is an active membership base.
