Lobbying leans Republican after election

The lobbying blitz following the 2024 election has leaned decidedly R.
In the two weeks immeditely following Election Day, lobbying firms with a Republican affiliation have more than doubled Democrat-affiliated firms in filings. Of the 61 unique registrants that have made a filing since Nov. 6, 20 of those have been Republican affiliated. Only eight Democrat-affiliated firms have submitted a filing in the same timespan. The other 33 unique registrants are not identified by LegiStorm as having a partisan lean.
Health issues and budget/appropriations were the two most filed issues for Republican firms compared to agriculture and education for Democrat firms.
Republican-affiliated registrants filing more than Democrat affiliated ones seems to be a pattern following an election, regardless of election outcome. The disparity following two weeks after the 2022 election was even larger, with 28 Republican-affiliated firms submitting a filing compared to 12 Democrat-affiliated firms. In 2020, however, the disparity was smaller. 20 Republican-affiliated firms submitted a filing compared to 13 by Democrat-affiliated firms.
LegiStorm considers a lobbyist to be affiliated with the Democratic or Republican party if they previously held a partisan elected, appointed or employment position. If more than 60% of a firm's lobbyists are affiliated with a single party, that is labeled as "leaning" in that political direction.
