Several broad water resource and water quality policy areas are identified and include the following: Water Quality (e.g., surface and groundwater quality, wastewater treatment, drinking water treatment); Water Resource Development, Management, and Use (e.g., dams, levees, navigation and hydropower development); Aquatic Resources Protection and Management (e.g., fisheries management, ecosystem restoration) Water Rights and Compacts; and Water Project Financing. Related statutes may include the Clean Water Act (CWA), Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), and the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSFCMA).
