Description:
H.R. 8681 would establish a new fellowship program under the Fulbright Program to promote the study of nonviolent civil rights movements. That educational program is managed by the Department of State and supports roughly 8,000 participants from the United States and other nations each year. Under the bill, the fellowship program would support at least 25 fellows from the United States to study or conduct research in foreign countries. Lastly, H.R. 8681 would require the department to report to the Congress on its implementation of the program.
