Premium   Download PDF Now (2 pages)
Congress 114th
Date Requested May 20, 2015
Requested By House Committee on Agriculture
Date Sent May 29, 2015
Description:

H.R. 2394 would authorize the appropriation of $3 million a year through 2018 to support the National Forest Foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit corporation established by federal law that awards grants to maintain recreational resources, such as trails, and to restore watersheds, wildlife habitats, and plant species within national forests and grasslands. The foundation also carries out activities to educate individuals about the National Forest System.

Assuming appropriation of the authorized amounts, CBO estimates that implementing the legislation would cost $9 million over the 2016-2018 period. Because enacting H.R. 2394 would not affect direct spending or revenues, pay-as-you-go procedures do not apply.

H.R. 2394 contains no intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act and would not affect the budgets of state, local, or tribal governments.
