Congress 113th
Date Requested Nov. 20, 2013
Requested By House Committee on Foreign Affairs
Date Sent Dec. 10, 2013
Description:

As ordered reported by the House Committee on Foreign Affairs on November 20, 2013

H.R. 3509 would require the Department of State to report to the Congress on the status of recovery and development efforts in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake in that country. The bill would require one report within four months of the bill’s enactment and additional reports every six months through 2016. Based on information from the department, CBO estimates that implementing those reporting requirements would have discretionary costs of less than $500,000 over the 2014-2016 period, assuming the availability of appropriated funds.

Enacting the bill would not affect direct spending or revenues; therefore, pay-as-you-go procedures do not apply.

H.R. 3509 contains no intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act and would not affect the budgets of state, local, or tribal governments.
