Information
Organization's Own Description:
The College of International Security Affairs (CISA) is one of National Defense University’s five colleges. CISA educates students from across the International, Interagency, and Interservice communities. Our graduates include alumni from 75 countries and every major U.S. federal executive agency. Students are equipped to operate in a complex security environment. They learn to bring analytical skills to decision making at the strategic level.
Our curriculum is comprised of four pillars. The core provides students with the fundamentals of security studies and strategic theory. A critical thinking pillar provides students with tools to engage in research, analysis, and argumentation. An electives pillar provides students with the freedom to pursue their personal and professional interests in more detail by selecting from among any elective course offered by NDU’s colleges. Finally, the Area of Concentration provides students with expertise in one (or two) of the following fields of study: International Counterterrorism, International Security Studies, Stabilization and Reconstruction, Homeland Defense, or Homeland Security.
