Organization's Own Description:
4-H is the largest youth development organization in the nation. It reaches young people in every county and parish in America with activities that fit the varying needs of communities. Through in-school and after-school activities, clubs and camps, the organization empowers nearly six million young people by developing critical life skills in areas including health, science, agriculture and civic engagement. 4-H is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Cooperative Extension System and is delivered
through a network of 110 public universities and more than 3,000 local Extension offices.
The Congressional 4-H Caucus works to raise awareness of the impact 4-H is having on young people and communities across the United States. Members of the 4-H Caucus will have opportunities to attend and participate in Caucus briefings and be seen as leaders and advocates by the many 4-Hers in their districts. Caucus members may be asked to promote legislation that supports the mission of 4-H.
