The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) conducts U.S.civilian space and aeronautics activities. For FY2008, the Administration requested$17.309 billion for NASA, an increase of 6.4% from the FY2007 regular appropriationof $16.264 billion. The 2005 authorization act authorized $18.686 billion. The Houseprovided $17.623 billion. The Senate provided $17.460 billion, including $1 billion inemergency funding. The final appropriation was $17.309 billion.
