Summary:
On April 18, 2005, the Board of Governors of the International DevelopmentAssociation (IDA) approved the fourteenth replenishment of IDA's resources. TheWorld Bank's concessional lending and grant making facility, IDA is funded bytransfers from World Bank resources and periodic replenishments from World Bankdonor countries.The Bush Administration pursued and achieved a number of objectives at the IDA-14 negotiations. These include implementing a results measurement framework,increasing the allocation of grants, implementing performance-based allocation,increasing transparency of IDA decision-making, and promoting opportunities forprivate sector development in the poorest countries. This report discusses key aspectsof the IDA-14 agreement and provides current appropriations information.
