This report summarizes federal financial support for the arts, humanities, andmuseums, provided through the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities.It provides background information, funding information, and explores some issuesinvolving selected arts and humanities-related programs, including the NationalEndowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH),and the Office of Museum Services within the Institute of Museum and LibraryServices (IMLS). Funding information is also provided for the Smithsonian andsome selected additional programs, including the Arts in Education program.
