Summary:

Although average labor productivity and average incomes are rising morerapidly, it may not mean that everyone is reaping benefits from faster productivitygrowth. Like current income, productivity gains may also be unequally distributed. If income gains from productivity are less equally distributed than is current income, productivity growth will exacerbate inequality. This report examines the accelerationin productivity that began in the mid-1990s, and who has reaped its benefits.
