Summary:

The Administration presented its FY2003 budget for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on February 4, 2002. The proposal calls for $31.35 billion of discretionary budget authority, about $800 million less than the $32.15 billion enacted for FY2002. The budget roughly maintains the status quo, since all 2.9million expiring Section 8 contracts would be renewed, but significant cuts are proposed for several programs.
