Summary:
In the 109th Congress, the Financial Services Regulatory Relief Act of 2006 (S.2856), which is in conference with the House version of this bill, may have an impacton the concentration of financial services providers. It includes provisions thataddress the risks that large, complex banking/securities firms must confront in thenew GLBA environment. The dynamics of consolidation combined with thecommingling of financial services have made risk management more difficult for theservices providers and their regulators.
