Summary:
This report shows projections of FY2009 State Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)federal allotments to states as provided under the Children's Health Insurance ProgramReauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA, H.R. 2, P.L. 111-3), signed into law on February 4, 2009.The estimates in this report are partly based on states' own projections of federal CHIP spendingsubmitted in November 2008. States will submit updated projections by the end of February2009, upon which the allotments under CHIPRA will be partly based. As a result, actual FY2009CHIP allotments may differ from those shown here.One of the provisions of CHIPRA permits using CHIP as the program's acronym, instead ofSCHIP. This report reflects this change, using CHIP instead of SCHIP.
