The official clergy of Congress are the two chaplains - one in the House, the otherin the Senate. They are among the elected officers of their respective houses. At thebeginning of each Congress, the House chaplain is elected for a two-year term. TheSenate chaplain does not have to be reelected at the beginning of a new Congress.
