About 75 countries currently possess cruise missiles. (1) Many experts predict that anti -- ship and land attack cruise missile proliferation will increase in terms of both scope and technological sophistication. This report will be updated as events warrant. 1. Cruise missiles differ from ballistic missiles in that they are powered throughout their entire flight and fly a relatively flat, as opposed to ballistic, course to the target.
