Summary:

The federal civilian workforce refers to the non-elected and non-military employees of the government. The President executes and enforces the laws passed by Congress, and the federal civilian workforce assists the President in implementing and administering those statutes.The Office of Personnel Management, the federal government's central personnel agency, reports data for on-board employees on a quarterly basis. These data illustrate trends and changes in workforce characteristics over time. This infographic portrays data for five core characteristics over the last seven Presidential terms, as reported in September of the last year of each term.
