Summary:
Constituents frequently ask Members of Congress to help them obtain funding for social service and community projects. To assist congressional offices in responding to questions, this report discusses ways to manage grants requests; describes priorities offices usually set, as well as levels and types of involvement, in handling such requests. This report provides guidance on using the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance, proposal writing, grant announcement, and on print, Internet, and other electronic sources of federal as well as private grants information.
