H.R. 5802, TSA Child CARE Act (CBO Report for Congress)

Premium   Download PDF Now (1 page)
Congress 116th
Date Requested Feb. 12, 2020
Requested By House Committee on Homeland Security
Date Sent June 17, 2020
Description:
H.R. 5802 would require the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to commission an assessment of its child care policies, procedures, and practices for personnel who are parents, expecting parents, or guardians who need child care for dependent minors. The bill would require a federally funded research and development center, or a national academy or laboratory, to conduct that assessment. TSA would need to submit that assessment and its response plan to the Congress within 90 days of the assessment’s completion. Based on the cost of similar activities, CBO estimates that implementing H.R. 5802 would cost less than $500,000 over the 2020-2025 period; that spending would be subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
