Premium   Download PDF Now (3 pages)
Congress 116th
Date Requested Sept. 27, 2018
Requested By House Committee on Natural Resources
Date Sent Oct. 2, 2018
Description:
S. 607 would authorize the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) to award grants to eligible public and private organizations to provide physical workspaces and other resources to Native American entrepreneurs and businesses. The legislation would authorize the appropriation of $5 million annually over the 2019-2023 period.   CBO estimates that implementing S. 607 would cost $18 million over the 2019-2023 period, assuming appropriation of the authorized amounts. Enacting the legislation would not affect direct spending or revenues; therefore, pay-as-you-go procedures do not apply.   CBO estimates that enacting S. 607 would not increase net direct spending or on-budget deficits in any of the four consecutive 10-year periods beginning in 2029.   S. 607 contains no intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act.
