Congress 114th
Date Requested April 14, 2016
Requested By the Senate Committee on the Judiciary
Date Sent May 3, 2016
Description:

S. 2614 would authorize the appropriation of $2 million annually over the 2017-2021 period for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to make grants to state and local governments and nonprofit organizations for programs to locate missing persons with dementia or developmental disabilities. Assuming appropriation of the authorized amounts and the historical rate of spending for similar activities, CBO estimates that implementing S. 2614 would cost $7 million over the 2017-2021 period.

Pay-as-you-go procedures do not apply to this legislation because enacting it would not affect direct spending or revenues. CBO estimates that enacting S. 2614 would not increase net direct spending or on-budget deficits in any of the four consecutive 10-year periods beginning in 2027.

S. 2614 contains no intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act.
