The jurisdiction of the Subcommittee on Capital Markets includes—securities, including retirement savings plans and products, exchanges, and finance; capital markets activities, including securitization, business capital formation, securities lending, and repurchase agreements; investment companies, investment advisers, and advisers to private funds; activities involving accounting and auditing; activities involving futures, forwards, options, and other types of derivative instruments; the Securities and Exchange Commission; the Financial Accounting Standards Board; the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board; the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board; the Securities Investor Protection Corporation; self-regulatory organizations registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission; and initiatives to protect investor interest and to promote investor confidence in market integrity.
