The House Manufacturing Caucus examines and promotes policies to help American manufacturers find trained, educated workers, continue to lead the world in developing new industrial technologies, operate on a level playing field with their foreign competitors, and obtain the capital they need to thrive.
The House Manufactuing Caucus is an active bipartisan group focused on enhancing the productivity, capacity, and competitiveness of American manufacturing. The House Manufacturing Caucus hosts briefings and roundtable discussions with industry experts, disseminates information, and provide resources so that Members and their staff can learn about the opportunities and challenges facing America’s manufacturing sectors. The Caucus also aims to provide Members with information to help constituents and spur job creation in manufacturing and associated industries.
Manufacturing has historically contributed more than 60 percent of U.S. exports – or about $50 billion a month – and multiplied every dollar spent into an additional $1.37 in economic activity, greater than other sectors. Americans have harnessed manufacturing to push the boundaries of science, technology and commerce. Manufacturing industries are vital to the American economy, but they are under siege at home and abroad. Manufacturers face unbalanced global competition, inadequate enforcement of existing trade laws, rising costs and the constricted availability of capital.
