Congress 117th
Date Requested Feb. 16, 2022
Requested By House Committee on Natural Resources
Date Sent April 26, 2022
Description:
H.R. 6199 would revise the boundary of Ste. Geneviève National Historical Park in Missouri. The bill would authorize the Secretary of the Interior to acquire by donation, land owned by the city of Ste. Geneviève to be used as the visitor center for the historical park. Currently, the National Park Service (NPS) operates a visitor center on that property under an agreement with the city. Using information from the NPS, CBO expects that the agency would acquire the site by donation in the first year following enactment. CBO estimates that the administrative costs associated with acquiring the land and updating maps would be insignificant; any spending would be subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
