Congress 117th
Date Requested June 16, 2021
Requested By Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation
Date Sent Oct. 26, 2021
Description:
S. 1890 would require the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to study and report to the Congress on scams targeting travelers during the COVID-19 pandemic and to update its website to include information on avoiding those scams. Using information from the FTC, CBO estimates that it would cost the agency less than $500,000 to complete the required study; any spending would be subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
