Jeff Bezos space company jets off with Sen. Murray aide

Jeff Bezos's space company is blasting off with a longtime aide to Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.).

Adam Goodwin started lobbying this month as a member of Blue Origin's government and legislative affairs team. He'd worked for Murray since 2007, most recently as a legislative assistant handling the senator's national security and armed forces portfolio.

Murray, who represents Blue Origin's home state of Washington, lent a hand to the space company in 2015, when Blue Origin unsuccessfully challenged a NASA contract that gave SpaceX exclusive use of a Kennedy Space Center launch pad. Bezos and his wife have long donated to Murray's reelection efforts through personal contributions, as well as through Blue Origin's political action committee.
